NEWS

After some extensive negotiations, Middlesex County Automobile Club has secured the use of the Rockingham Race Circuit near Corby for its annual 2 day rally on the weekend of December 9th & 10th. The event will, as was originally planned, be the final round of this year’s BK Competition Tyres & Ward Construction AEMC stage rally championship. The awards presentation for the championship will take place at the Rockingham venue after the rally. Full details of this will be sent to all registered championship contenders, AEMC clubs and officials in the next few days in a championship bulletin.

This means that there are three remaining events in this year’s championship

1) RalliTrak Premier Stages Rally – Sunday October 29th

2) Tempest Stages – Saturday 11th November

3) Rockingham stages – Saturday 9th/Sunday 10th December

If any competitors have any questions or problems please contact the championship co-ordinator, Clive Taylor.

URGENT PRESS RELEASE
29th July 2006

Following a change of ownership of Oakington Airfield near Cambridge I am afraid to announce that the venue has been lost to all motorsport form August 8th 2006. This means the Bomb Along Stages organized by Middlesex County C.C. on September 10th and the event scheduled for October 22nd organized by Green Belt M.C/Wickford A.C. will not be running. The clubs are doing all they can to try and resurrect their events in another format and we will keep you fully advised of progress.

In previous announcements I had advised that the Spotted Dick Stages to be run at Longcross on September 3rd had also been cancelled. I am delight to announce the newly formed London Irish Motor Club will be running the Scafftex Stages on the same day again at Longcross. The club is shortly joining the AEMC so we will be able to incorporate the event within the championship.

Middlesex County C.C. is still experiencing some difficulty with securing Rockingham for their event on December 9th & 10th. This has been caused by a huge increase in the cost of the hire of the venue. The club has informed me that they are trying to secure another venue for the same date but at the moment cannot make any announcement. As soon as we know any further news it will be posted on both the AEMC & Taymor Motorsport website.
